An absolutely iconic bottle from Scotland’s oldest Indie Bottler, Cadenhead’s of Campbeltown. Cadenhead’s have been bottling whiskies since 1847, but really came into prominence in the 70s and 80s with this range of short n stout bottles, affectionately known as the “Dumpy” collection. They bottled whisky from nearly every distillery in operation at the time, many of which have now long closed, so the bottles have become highly collectible.
I’d be lying if I told you that I could remember what it tasted like because it was dram #98475398453 at a whisky show - but I remember it being mind-blowing, even if for nothing other than it being a shiny Charizard of a whisky to try.
It’s mad that you can travel halfway across the world and find wee gems like this. This particular dram was courtesy of the very kind and generous KC. God bless Scotch.
Slainte!
